There are a lot of ways to measure progress - workouts completed. Programs finished. Heavier weights lifted. Faster times. More reps.

But those numbers only tell part of the story. Behind every workout completed is a person with their own goals, challenges and reasons for showing up. Someone squeezing in 30 minutes before the rest of the house wakes up. Someone picking up weights for the first time. Someone returning to exercise after years away. Someone discovering that they're capable of more than they thought.

Those are the stories that make this community what it is - so we're turning the spotlight over to a few of the people behind the workouts.

Meet Angela

Reflecting on my fitness journey over the past year.  I’ve been working out with Heather since COVID but only really started dialing in with her last September when I purchased an app subscription.

Previously I would do a little bit here and there, but never a full program and never with a calendar to track.  I stopped and started working out so many times and yo-yo’d a fair bit with my weight.

Since joining the app I have done 216 workouts, completed 6 programs and just started my 7th.  I am more mindful of nutrition and sleep and am so happy with the strength and mobility I’ve gained.

I'm so grateful for Heather’s workouts and for this group. I’ve made some great online friends there. We really support each other.

I’m training for the next 50+ years now.  Turning 48 in November.

Meet Marita

I developed severe knee pain that forced me to stop running completely. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia. The immediate fix was rest, but for the long term, I had two options: hyaluronic acid injections or serious strength training for my legs so my muscles could support my knees while running

That was my turning point. I committed fully to your workouts and made them my top priority. I started doing strength training 5 times a week. When the app launched, I didn't hesitate for a second to subscribe I can plan ahead, structure my week, and adjust my routine when traveling. I also love that I can log workouts outside the app, since besides running, I swim and recently started cycling

Fast forward to my recent 10K PR. All these years of strength training have almost completely eliminated my knee pain-which allowed me to gradually increase my running days again. It also improved my running posture, helped me engage the right muscles to run faster, improved my stride and foot strike, increased my speed, and brought my VO2 max to an excellent level.

Hitting this PR took a lot of hard work and effort, especially as I turn 45 this October!

Meet Ashlee

Prior to training with Heather I was struggling with muscle gain, endurance, stamina, confidence and overall health.

I was 250lbs at one point and had major health issues.
Heather has changed my life completely! I have never been stronger, more fit, confident, consistent, or had this amount of energy in my entire life!

I actually feel confident in my clothes and about myself.
I love the results!

If you want results, all you have to do is work hard and show up - no more excuses, press play once and you'll forever be glad you did!

~Ashlee A. Woodinville, Washington

Meet Laura

My strength, discipline, mindset and confidence has completely changed since starting Heather's workouts.

In January I saw a picture of myself and was so very shocked to see what I saw. I was not happy, not confident and embarrassed of my body. I wore baggy clothes to cover. I finally took matters into my own hands and completely changed my lifestyle.

I began to exercise with Heather 5x week. I also changed my diet and by mid April, I had lost 30 pounds (my goal). I was a size 8-10 and now a size 2-4.

Not only did I feel so confident, but my energy increased. I am now maintaining my weight while still eating 80% whole foods and still doing Heather's workouts through her app. I will never look back. I did this for myself and so I can be healthy and strong for when I have a family of my own one day.

Meet Ashley

I always loved being active and fitness was a huge part of my identity. That is, until I became sick.

I suffered from an autoimmune disorder called uveitis in which my body began attacking my eyes. I slowly lost my vision and I was taking numerous medications that felt as if they took the life out of my body.

I became severely depressed. I lost many joys in life, my career, and most importantly, my health. My blood pressure was significantly elevated and my blood work reflected my sedentary lifestyle. I avoided pictures and I did not even recognize myself.

One day I woke up and something changed. I was so tired of allowing uveitis to win. I wanted to take back control of my life and my health. I started walking and cleaned up my diet. However, I was desperate for a structured program to keep me motivated. I was unable to drive due to poor vision, so going to a gym was not an option.
I came across Heather's workouts  and I fell in love with them! I made the decision to commit and complete a full 12 week program.

I could see and feel the results, both physically and mentally! I decided to keep the positivity going - after completing two programs I was a completely different person. I lost over 60 pounds, my blood pressure and aspects of my blood work, normalized and I regained enough vision to be back to work as a nurse practitioner! I make sure to educate patients about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and I am proud to lead them by example!

Different Goals. Different Stories. One Community.
One of my favourite things about this community is that there isn't one definition of progress. For one person, progress might mean lifting heavier dumbbells. For someone else, it's finishing their first full program. It might mean getting through your first push-up.

Finding your way back to movement after a difficult season. Becoming more consistent. Having more energy. Feeling stronger in everyday life. Or simply learning to enjoy working out again.

There isn't one finish line we're all racing toward. We're here to keep moving forward, wherever we're starting from. And when we share these stories, we get to see just how many different versions of progress exist within this community.

What's your story?

These are only a few of the stories that make up the HR community, and we know there are so many more. So now we're turning the spotlight over to you - What are you proud of?

Maybe you've completed your first program. You're stronger than you used to be. You've finally created a routine that works for your life. You've tried a style of training you never thought you'd enjoy. Or maybe your biggest accomplishment is simply that you keep showing up.

Big wins, small wins and everything in between, we want to hear them.

Whether you’ve been training with me for years, recently discovered the HR community or are just starting to explore what’s here, I hope these stories remind you that progress can look different for everyone.

Wherever you are in your own journey, there’s always a place to start, keep going and see what you’re capable of. Join now and start the first chapter of your health & fitness story
